Apuane, le Montagne d'Acqua

Apuane, le Montagne d'Acqua

Born from the sea, even today the Apuan Alps maintain a privileged and inseparable relationship with water.Originating from the uplift of a coral reef, these peaks, which touch two thousand meters in height, are characterized by numerous microclimates due to a strong and constant humidity favored by the proximity of the sea.In fact, in every season, the precious liquid element, in its different forms, covers and envelops the surface and penetrates the bowels of these extraordinary reliefs, often spilling out of the steep slopes with imposing rivers and impressive waterfalls. The presence of such high humidity allows the life of numerous animal and plant species, which have adapted to a particularly severe environment but increasingly threatened by the intense marble mining activity.
