Il Tevere e Regina Coeli - TRAILER
Can art play a social role?
The documentary is a cultural walk along the Tiber River in Rome, starting from the monumental complex of San Michele a Ripa Grande, the former juvenile prison, and ending at Regina Coeli, still a detention center.
The experience is linked to the 9th National Day of Theater in Prison, launched on the occasion of the 60th World Theater Day. Bringing theater into prisons means building a bridge between the "inside" and "outside" of penal institutions and allows art to be practiced with autonomy and creative freedom. The documentary won the Solidarity Cinema Award at the XIV International Fest Roma Film Corto 2022 and Best European Documentary at the 8 & Half Film Awards 2023.
